Information Collection and Use
LG Electronics Canada Inc. (“LGECI”) is the sole custodian of the personal information collected on this site. Unless required or permitted by applicable law or otherwise except with your consent, we will not sell, license, share, trade or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this Privacy Policy.
Collection and Use of Personal Information
LGECI collects information from our users at several different points on our website for a variety of purposes, as described below:
 • When you apply to become a member of the LG Partner Portal through our online application form,
   we collect basic business contact information (such as your name, title, department, e-mail address,
   telephone and fax number) and company information (such as company name, tax ID, distribution
   channel type, company size, address, URL, etc.) in order to process and approve your application
 • We also use your contact information to:
   o Provide you with personalized services and interactive communication;
   o Provide you with timely and reliable services and do all the things necessary to administer
    those services;
   o Research, develop, manage, protect and improve those services;
   o Advise you about new products and services that may be of interest to you or your company;
   o Develop and maintain our relationship with you and your company and communicate with you;
   o Bill you or your company for products and services that you have requested
 • We reserve the right to collect information relating to sales and purchase history of members
   and to use and disclose such information for marketing and market analysis purposes,
   including for purposes related to the administration of Market Development Funds.
Log Files and Cookies
We use the IP addresses of visitors’ site to analyze trends, administer the site, track user's movements and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.
We also use cookies on our site which store login ID so you do not need to sign-in When you log-in to our site, we also place a text file called a “cookie” in the browser directory of your computer’s hard drive. This cookie stores your log-in information on your web browser which can be retrieved at the time of your next log-in so that you do not have to re-enter your log-in information each time. The cookie cannot be read by any website other than our site. Some browsers can be set to reject all cookies. If you choose to modify your browser in this manner, you will have to re-enter your log-in information each time you want to log-in to our site.
Disclosure and Sharing of Personal Information
LGECI may share personal information with third parties, including its parent company and affiliates, engaged to assist us in providing services to you or to carry out one or more of the purposes described above. These service providers are prohibited from using your personal information for any purpose other than to provide this assistance and are required to protect personal information collected by them on behalf of LGECI or disclosed to them by LGECI and to comply with the general privacy principles described in this Privacy Policy.
LGECI reserves the right to disclose personal information to a third party if a law, regulation, search warrant, subpoena or court order legally requires or authorizes us to do so.
LGECI also reserves the right to disclose and/or transfer personal information to a third party in the event of a proposed or actual purchase, sale (including a liquidation, realization, foreclosure or repossession), lease, merger, amalgamation or any other type of acquisition, disposal, transfer, conveyance or financing of all or any portion of LGECI or of any of the business or assets or shares of LGECI or a division thereof in order for you to continue to receive the same products and services from the third party.
We will share aggregated demographic information with our partners and advertisers. This is not linked to any personal information that can identify any individual person.
Security
Providing a secure online experience to our users is a high priority of LGECI. We recognize that users' privacy and security are of the utmost importance, and we have devoted a great deal of effort to ensure that users´ information is safeguarded, both online and off-line, against loss, theft and unauthorized access.
If our application form asks users to enter sensitive information (such as social insurance number, on an optional basis), that information is encrypted and is protected with the best encryption software currently available in the industry. Access to your personal information is restricted to selected employees or representatives. In addition, LGECI employs generally accepted information security techniques, such as firewalls, access control procedures and cryptography, to protect personal information against loss and unauthorized access.
Retention and Storage of Personal Information
LGECI retains your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose(s) for which it was collected and to comply with applicable laws, and your consent to such purposes(s) remains valid after termination of our relationship with you. For the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy, we or one of our affiliates or an unaffiliated service provider may process and store your personal information outside of the province in which you reside and/or outside of Canada, and under the laws of those other jurisdictions, in certain circumstances courts, law enforcement agencies, regulatory agencies or security authorities in those other provinces or foreign jurisdictions may be entitled to access your personal information. For example, your personal information may be transferred to one of LGECI´s affiliates in South Korea and/or the United States for processing purposes.
Correction/Updating Personal Information
If a user´s personal information changes (such as user´s postal code), or if a user no longer desires our service, we will provide a way for the user to correct, update or remove that user's personal information provided to us. This can usually be done at the ‘my profile’ section on our website. Otherwise, the user may contact our Privacy Officer Brisette Lucas at LG Electronics Canada Inc., 550 Matheson Blvd E, Mississauga, ON, L4Z 4G3 or 1-888-542-2623 to withdraw his or her consent to our continued collection, use and disclosure of his or her personal information, subject to legal and contract restrictions and reasonable notice.

Please be aware that LG Electronics (Canada) is not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites, which may differ significantly from our Privacy Policy. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every website they visit that collects personally identifiable information. This Privacy Policy applies solely to information collected by this website.
No Liability For Acts of Third Parties
Although LGECI will use all commercially reasonable efforts to safeguard the security of the personal information collected in accordance with this Privacy Policy, transmissions made by means of the Internet cannot be made absolutely secure. LGECI will have no liability for disclosure of any information due to errors in transmission, unauthorized acts of third parties, or through the use of third party cookies including those of advertisers when you view or click on their advertisements.
Changes to the Privacy Policy
LGECI has adopted this Privacy Policy so our users can be aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and the circumstances, if any, under which we disclose it. We reserve the right to change or update this Privacy Policy at any time without notice to reflect changes in legal or regulatory obligations or changes in the manner in which we deal with personal information. Any changes or updates will be effective immediately upon posting to this website, and your use of this site following such posting constitutes your acceptance of the Privacy Policy as so changed or updated. If at any point we decide to use personally identifiable information in a manner materially different from that stated at the time it was collected, we will notify users by way of an email. Users will have a choice as to whether or not we may use their information in this different manner.
